Dr. Nicole Tremain

Veterinarian

After working with us as an associate since 2014, Dr. Tremain purchased the practice in 2017 and has made Arrow Veterinary Clinic what it is today.  After growing up in Flint & Grand Ledge, Dr. Tremain attended MSU in East Lansing.  She graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor’s of Science and then in 2009 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Tremain shares her home with 3 kiddos; Aiden (10), Alexandra (7) and Ashtyn (5).  They have a dog, Sparky, as well as 4 cats – Bauer, TJ, Fur, and Charles. In her free time, she watches (mostly MSU) sports and spends time a lot of time outside, especially at the beach.  Dr. Tremain loves Savannah, GA and Nashville, TN.  Given the chance to take a quick vacation, that’s probably where you’d find her.  If there’s one thing she can’t go without, it’s coffee. It is her lifeblood. As such, we always have a pot of coffee available and invite you to stop in and have a cup with us!

*Dr. Tremain is a member of the WMVMA, MVMA and AVMA.

Sara Karasinski

Practice Manager

Starting as a receptionist in 2012, Sara invested time into learning everything she could about veterinary medicine and practice management.  She moved into the role of Practice Manager in 2017 and graduated from St. Petersburg College in Spring 2020 with a degree in Business Administration. Although she grew up in Ludington, she has called Lowell her home for the last 20 years. She is mom to two boys, Austin (18) and Garrett (13) and they have a lab mix, Zuri. During the summer they enjoy camping with family and exploring the Upper Peninsula.  In the Fall, you’ll likely find them cheering on Austin at a soccer game and enjoying bonfires at home.

*Sara is a member of the VHMA and actively working on becoming a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM)

Sam

Administrative Assistant

Sam joined the Arrow team just before our 1st anniversary.  She put her lifelong love of animals to use and jumped in feet first to the veterinary field.  Sam is especially proud to have graduated debt free from Montcalm Community College with an Associates of Applied Science.  She shares her life with her boyfriend, David, her cat, Tate and her dogs, Molly, Porter and Nekko.  They enjoy vacationing to Shipshewana, Indiana.  Sam is rarely without a book in her hand so if you have any suggestions for a good read, she’ll take it!

Chandel

Administrative Assistant

Chandel is the second half of our red headed front desk duo.  She graduated from Lowell High School and still resides in the area so she is no stranger to Lowell.  She loves traveling and exploring new things; even scuba diving with sharks!  When not manning the front desk of AVC, Chandel stays busy hanging out with her pets, Mia, Hercules and Wrigley as well as her friends and family.  She enjoys reading and spending time on the lake.  Her goal is to one day own a home on a lake.  When that happens, you can bet that we’ll be there to help her enjoy it!

Francesca

Veterinary Assistant

After graduating from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s in Biology in 2018, Francesca returned to her hometown of East Grand Rapids and found her way to us.  She hopes to attend vet school in the next few years and we are excited about that!  Francesca and her family enjoy vacationing in Glen Arbor and their labradoodle, Mabel, is always by their side.  In her spare time, Francesca enjoys reading, painting and collecting old books.  She can’t live without coffee or tea so she fits right in here with our highly caffeinated team!

Janet

Veterinary Assistant

Janet joined us as our Part Time Veterinary Assistant, focusing primarily on surgery.  When asked about the pets she has at home, Janet replied with “It feels like a small zoo.”  Her love of animals is evident there.  Amongst the small zoo, Janet also shares her home with her husband and their three children.  She lives near some pretty cool hiking trails and often explores them with a kid or dog in tow.  When given the opportunity, she’ll happily travel to North Carolina so she and the kids can all visit their besties.

Jen

Veterinary Assistant

We are fortunate to have a few veterinarians in training and Jen is one of them.  She already has a BA in Psychology and is finishing her BA in Anthropology but her goal is to be accepted to a veterinary school in the very near future.  Her study buddy is her German Shepard/Lab Mix, Naanan.  If she’s not busy working or studying, Jen enjoys hiking, kayaking and spending time with her friends and family.

Hunter

Veterinary Assistant

Hunter joined us in Summer 2020 to gain some clinic experience before starting veterinary school at MSU in the fall.  She graduated from U of M with a BS in Biology with an Enviromental minor in Spring 2020.  Prior to joining us, Hunter volunteered at a humane society and animal shelter but most impressively, with a pre-vet program in South Africa.  She has a passion for exotics but a love for all animals large and small.  We can’t wait to see what she accomplishes!
Team member since 2020

Nora

Kennel Assistant

With her eyes on becoming a veterinarian, Nora started shadowing Dr. Tremain in early 2019.  After a few months, we knew we wanted to keep her around and made her a part of our team.  Aside from working here and attending high school, Nora is active in competitive cheer and 4H.  At the 2019 Kent County Youth Fair, Nora won Junior Reserve Champion for both her rabbit and her chicken.  We are incredibly proud of her!  We have no doubt that she’ll achieve her goals of graduating with honors and attending a division one school.

Aiden, Alex, Ashtyn

Technicians in training

Chances are that if your pet has been in our clinic, it has been loved on by one of these kiddos.  They have a true passion for all animals and spend quite a bit of time here at the office.  It is our goal to have them fully trained and answering phones by age 12 (we’re only partially kidding).
